Batum and Clippers agree on new 2 year deal

Free agent forward Nicolas Batum has agreed to a two-year, $9.6 million contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to sources cited by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 35-year-old French-Cameroonian considered retirement but chose to return for his 17th NBA season following a strong campaign with the Philadelphia 76ers. Known for his playmaking and ball-handling abilities, Batum is a versatile 6-foot-8 forward who stretches the floor with reliable three-point shooting, particularly from the corners. While he’s no longer the athlete he once was, his length and defensive awareness remain assets on that end of the court.

Batum spent three seasons with the Clippers before being traded to Philadelphia early last season as part of the James Harden deal. He quickly became a key member of the 76ers’ rotation, averaging nearly 26 minutes per game and starting 38 contests.
