Atlanta Hawks trade for Gabe Vincent

The Atlanta Hawks have traded for guard Gabe Vincent and a future second-round pick, sending guard Luke Kennard to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Vincent, 29, has played in 29 games (seven starts) this season, averaging 4.8 points and 1.3 assists in 19.3 minutes per game. Over his seven-year NBA career, he has appeared in 307 games (86 starts), posting averages of 6.9 points, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 rebounds in 20.8 minutes per contest. He previously spent four seasons with the Miami Heat before joining the Lakers in 2023.

Los Angeles signed Vincent using its midlevel exception after he played a key role in helping Miami reach the NBA Finals in 2023. However, knee issues — including surgery — limited him to just 11 games in his first season with the Lakers. He rebounded to play 72 games the following year, shooting 35.3% from three-point range. This season, he has shifted between a starting and reserve role amid multiple injuries on the roster.

Vincent is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the season.
